Sinequan is a drug that is used to treat anxiety or depression. Sinequan is also known by the name doxepin. It is used as a treatment of anxiety and depression associated with psychiatric conditions, alcoholism as well as manic depressive conditions.

Contraindications of Sinequan
Sinequan is strictly prohibited if:
- You are allergic to any active or inactive ingredient of Sinequan
- You are allergic to any other tricyclic antidepressant
- You have trouble in urinating
- You have glaucoma
- You have ingested any of the drug like linezoid or MAOI like furazolidone, isocarboxazid, phenelzine, et al, in the last 14 days.
Before you take Sinequan, you must take a few precautions. You must tell your doctor if you have a history of bleeding problems, liver problems, breathing issues, a recent heart attack, hyperthyroidism, problems in urinating or any other major health issue. You must also let your doctor know about the family or personal history of any mood or mental issue like bipolar disease, glaucoma or family history of seizures or suicide.
This drug causes blurred vision, drowsiness and dizziness, so it would be better to stay away from driving, machinery or other activities requiring alertness. Also stay away from alcohol.
Also, this drug makes one sensitive to sun. So do not stay in sun for long.
Pregnancy and breast feeding
Discuss with your doctor before taking this drug during pregnancy or you get pregnant during treatment. This drug passes into the breast milk and may cause undesirable effects on the nursing baby. Do not use this drug if you are a lactating mother.
